A varied programme of events and activities aimed at start-ups and established companies is to take place for this year’s Croydon Business Month.
It will be launched at the We Mean Business Expo, South London’s premier annual business exhibition and network opportunity, at Fairfield Halls on October 14.
The Expo is the first in a series of events comprising surgeries, workshops, seminars and conferences organised for the next few weeks.
The council has teamed up with key business partners, such as the Chamber of Commerce, Croydon Business Ventures, Croydon Partnership, the Federation of Small Businesses, GLE One London and NatWest Bank to provide the varied programme of events.
These include Setting up a Social Enterprise at MyOutSpace Business Centre in Middle Street, Croydon, from 5-7pm on 20 October.
GLE will be hosting a finance drop-in surgery in Matthews Yard, Croydon, from 10am to 1pm on 4 November.
There will also be a First Steps in Exporting seminar at Wetherill House Business Centre, Whitestone Way, Croydon from 9.30am to 11.30am on 21 October, aimed at established businesses.
Towards the end of the programme, the Develop Croydon Conference takes place on 18 November at Fairfield Halls.
Councillor Toni Letts, cabinet member for economy and jobs, said: “Croydon Business Month is the most important and exciting fixture in Croydon’s annual business calendar.
“There really is something for every kind of business, whether you’re an aspiring start-up or a well-established company.
“This year there’s a particular focus on social enterprise, after Croydon was awarded social enterprise status in May.
“I recommend you visit the website to find out what’s taking place, as there will be several events which could really help your business.”
